The Law Offices of Albert J. Slap

Environmental Litigation

There are many good environmental lawyers out there. Many have excellent regulatory backgrounds. They negotiate on behalf of their clients before the government agencies. But, if the desired result is not obtained and the case has to move on to trial, they may not have the actual courtroom experience that is required to take the case to the next phase. In many larger firms, this is where a “hand-off” takes place to the firm’s litigation department. In this situation, there are built in inefficiencies and extra costs, as new attorneys are brought up to speed to learn the fact pattern of the case.

Albert Slap has over 30 years of environmental law and trial experience. He has tried numerous jury trials to verdict in state and federal courts. Slap has obtained multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements during trial in groundwater pollution, toxic torts and other environmental cases. Here is a link to some of the reported cases in which Mr. Slap has been lead counsel. Lexisoutput.doc, including his most recent case, Sierra Club, et al v. Hamilton County Bd. of Commissioners, 2007 U.S. App. LEXIS 24356 (6th Cir. 2007).
